Okay, so it's a fact of life that most weapons are somewhat phallic. Swords, guns, knives, missiles, even whips (gee Catwoman, what would Freud say?). Some of this is practical. After all, I don't know how you'd stab someone with something circular. Anyway, I read somewhere recently that a lasso could be read as a vaginal weapon. That got me thinking: what weapons aren't phallic, and what exactly do they represent?
So, here's my list of nonphallic weaponry. Feel free to add to it:
Vaginal
Lasso
Chakram (you know, that thing Xena had)
Scrotal/Testicular
Grenades
Bolo
Yo-Yo
???
Sling (testicular?)
Slingshot
Frisbee
Boomerang
Garotte/Razorwire
Shield
Boobular
Acid-squirting flower

Dear Tom, I don't know if weaponry can be classified in quite this way, but you must admit that picking up a stick and whacking something seems to be hardwired into our reptilian brains.
The mancatcher is kind of vaginal. If you don't know what it is--it may or may not have been invented for D&D--I'm not sure how to explain it and I can't find a picture.
I guess the garrote is too, if the lasso is.
a mancatcher's head! this is a polearm class weapon, mounted on a heavy staff. i think there were non-bladed versions also, for use by police or security. http://salveblues.ru/mech/weapon/pole/mancatch.gif
Wow, the Mancatcher is like Vagina Dentata on a stick. Good show.
You could probably stab someone with a circular saw... but that'd probably be more trouble than it's worth.
Anonymous isn't stabbing, even with a circular saw, a phallic suggestion?
Continuing with that thought, would Xena using her Chakram to stab someone be evidence of penis envy?
